Scan your Freestyle Libre
Starting with version 2020.14 you’re now able to scan your Freestyle Libre directly from the DiabetoLog app !
What information can I get ?
You’ll be able to get with a simple scan the following information:
Your last blood glucose value
The current trend direction of your glycemia (the “trend arrow”)
A graph of your last 8 hours of automatic blood glucose measurement
In addition, your last BG value is automatically saved in your log for the current time of day.
How does it work ?
The first time you try to scan a given Libre sensor, the app will ask you to calibrate your sensor. This means that you have to scan your sensor with the official LibreView app and copy the blood glucose value given to you back in DiabetoLog. If you do not use the LibreView app, you can also use your FreeStyle reader to get the BG reading.
The app will then use your iPhone’s NFC scanner to communicate with the Libre sensor and read your blood glucose information. As a consequence, please note that only the iPhones 7, 8, X, XR, XS, 11 or 11 Pro running iOS 13 (or newer) are compatible with this feature.
The scan can be initiated from the home screen using the “airwaves” button.
